Description

Julio de los Reyes is a garbage sorter at a dumpsite in the Philippines. Lately a man has been approaching the workers there to sell their kidneys claiming that it can help families financially and is altruistic at the same time. Julio knows there is something amiss, but he cannot help wondering about the good the money would bring to his family. Ultimately, he is challenged to make a decision.

Teaching Objectives

After reading and discussing the material, students should:
