Ali Taleb is a professor of strategy and global management at MacEwan University’s School of Business based in Edmonton, Canada. Before joining MacEwan, he has taught business policy, corporate strategy, and international business at Concordia University, HEC Montreal, and McGill University in Montreal, Canada   Besides teaching, Dr. Taleb studies how firms internationalize and engage competitors especially in the context of emerging markets as both the destination and the source of multinational firms. His research has been presented in major international conferences (Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, European Academy of Management, European Group for Organization Studies, North American Case Research Association, and Strategic Management Society) and published in scholarly outlets (Ivey Publishing, McGraw-Hill Ryerson, Routledge). His latest book, which he co-edited with two colleagues, focuses on the challenges and opportunities of doing business in emerging markets.   Professor Taleb’s research interests and teaching activities are deep-rooted in many years of practical business experience in senior management capacity as well as in management consultancy across Europe and North America. His formal education included a PhD in international and strategic management (HEC Montreal, Canada), an MBA in general management (Ivey Business School, Canada), and an MSc in telematics (University of Paris, France).
